A wonderful place that we like to go out and always have a good time. And the food just wonderful ??
After ordering a margarita, the drink was not served in the obligatory margarita glass with a subtle salt rim. Rather, two "tankards" were presented, garnished with a thick layer of salt. When asked how such a deviation from the norm was to be understood, the waitress replied succinctly that it was served “always that way”. The criticism of a cocktail lover was only taken note of with disapproval. The inclined connoisseur should better ask the competition.
Even one star is still too many! Let's start with the positive: The store is on Karli, which is why there are many good alternative options in the vicinity that are significantly better in all of the following points! A first warning signal of the evening should have been that you pay 6 € for a plastic bottle of Margon water - you could at least have filled the water with a little lemon in a nice carafe. We only got glasses on request. Tortillas, enchiladas, burritos, tacos, quesadillas - in principle, the dishes are fast food. One should think so. We were there as a small group on a Saturday evening and the shop was relatively busy. We were therefore aware of a waiting time and we accepted it. However, we waited over 1.5 hours for a couple of burritos. Only one person received a loveless meal after an hour. If you order food as a group, it should arrive together. When asked, the waiter was sloppy and we were told that there was a lot going on, but nobody else in the restaurant was served anything to eat. When the food finally came we were rather disappointed. A lot of money for small, bland and carelessly prepared portions. Everyone can do that better at home! Even the simplest starter imaginable - dates wrapped in bacon never found their way to our table. The location is also rather uncomfortable and it pulled like pike soup. In addition to the large non-smoking room, there is a smoking room that is separated by a sliding door. The door was always open, however, which is why it stank of smoke everywhere. At the end of the evening we had to calculate the bill ourselves, as the waitress was not able to do this, and orders were incorrectly shown. Conclusion: If you want to have a nice evening you should avoid the Acapulco.
Much too expensive and the portions are quite small and you have to wait an extremely long time. In addition, there was absolutely no distance between the tables that were never wiped and the waiters didn't even have a face mask with them. When asked about it, you get a maximum of one eye roll. I can only advise against a visit.
We always loved going to Acapulco, but unfortunately the prices and waiting times have exploded. No hygiene concept was recognizable. The minimum distance was not observed at all. Too bad.
We love coming here. We always feel good. Unfortunately the prices have increased so much that we think it's a bit excessive. Okay, Covid 19 has left a lot behind but also on the guest. We like to eat and drink here and also like all the waiters, but we have to limit ourselves a bit because of the prices, as the relationship to the individual dishes is no longer right. Too bad.
Very nice service and delicious food. Unfortunately, the prices have increased significantly after the owner has changed.
Eating takes a long time and prices are completely excessive for some dishes. Very loud ambience and dark. Anyone who likes such an ambience would definitely give 2 stars more, it's not mine.
Delicious meal. Unfortunately a little expensive. The only drawback: It was said that the Quesadilla Chilli should be spicy, but unfortunately it wasn't.
Food very good, but outside by buses and ban very, very loud. Next time we go in :)
Eat good. Unfortunately we had to wait 90 minutes for Mexican fast food. The explanation that many take-away dishes were ordered is in no way understandable for visitors to a restaurant! Otherwise the business model should perhaps be reconsidered.
Very long wait. Everyone can improve their food at home. Unfortunately, there is no hygiene concept for the purpose of corona virus. The tables, chairs and menu cards were not wiped off in the 2 hours we were there. Very disappointing.
Been here for a long time. Price / performance ratio has decreased significantly over the years. Gave a vegetarian burrito for just under 10 euros, which ultimately looked like a bag of salad. With a vegetarian dish, I would have liked a little more love and quality for the price. Unfortunately, I cannot rate the other food. I think a quesadilla still tastes as good as it used to be. As in the past, the ambience is very pleasant and typical of Acapulco. A Leipzig beer has also made it onto the menu.
Pros: Nice place, friendly service, good food Cons: long waiting times. No payment with Visa or Mastercard possible, and that in a tourist metropolis, really sad. Instead, you have to listen to a lecture that you can't pay for everything with a card in Berlin and Munich. You shouldn't take the negative examples as an example ...
The waiters are unfortunately very unmotivated, unfriendly and don't see when glasses or plates are empty. The meal took a long time without informing us. There are too few waiters for too few guests. The portions are really big, but not really exciting food for the price. Overall, I would advise against a visit.
So if I couldn't even give a star I would do that, I've never experienced anything unfriendly, the waiter told us in such an impudent tone that we couldn't change our table, and that he works there and decides who is sitting where , I went in to ask another waitress, of course almost kicked us out with the same outrageous tone, really unfriendly, missed us the whole evening !! Would like to know who the boss is and complain to him
Average food - awful service. Over 1h30m waiting for food which turned out to be just ok
Delicious lemonade and solid but not above average food. Unfortunately, extremely long waiting times (approx. 60 minutes from ordering to serving the dishes) and rather proud prices.
We were there yesterday and will never go again. Only 2 waiters work for around 40 guests. Waited 2 hours for someone to come to us. It's too loud if you just want to chat with buddies. The food has nothing to do with the Mexican food. Went home disappointing. I wonder why it has 4.2 stars. I respect the hard work of the employees, but the boss has to make better conditions. :(
Good mexican in the south suburb. You can get tasty Mexican food here for a still reasonable price. Especially in summer it is nice to sit outside and watch the goings-on on the Karli.
Central location on the pub mile. Many places to sit outside, most of which are covered and partly heated. Mexican food at a good price-performance ratio. The cocktails were not quite our case. Overall recommendable.
Never seen a quesadilla like this one... Also the mole seems to be from the supermarket. House beer is good though.
All the signs this Restaurant gives from outside are illusions. Worst Mexican food ever in my life. Took more than an hour till food came. The chicken breast grill plate has nothing to do with Mexican food. Bitter zucchini, was literally boiled in water with other veggies. Cold nachos with small portion of dips. And expensive.
SS
nice place to sit and chat outdoors watching the Karli passerby’s...other than that, prices are relatvely high for drinks and food, and the nachos are German.
We were in the neighbourhood and popped in to the restaurant on a whim, because we both fancied some Mexican food. Little did we know that the next hour would change how we will preceve bad food and service for the rest of our lives. The waitress was really fast to pick up our drink order and bring our drinks to the table. In hindsight, I'm guessing that's the only way to keep customers from running away, because we weren't exactly convinced once we had a chance to look at the menu. We noticed that the so called Mexican food really wasn't screaming mariachi band and sombreros (it wasn't even whispering it to be honest), so we decided to ask the waitress what the "Original Mexican Burrito" contained. The menu only stated beef and black beans which both in all fairness are tasty, but sounds a bit trivial in a whole burrito. The waitress answer was "I don't know, I haven't had it", after which she asked if we know what we want to order. Amazed by her reluctancy to help, we both ordered another burrito (chicken for me), thinking it's impossible to screw up something as simple as that. Little did we know... The "burrito" at Café Acapulco is an abomination. Who ever came up with this recepie should be chased by rabid dogs to be kept as far away from a kitchen as possible. Honestly... I'm not even joking. The only thing that resembled a burrito was the fact that the filling was wrapped in a tortilla. The filling in my chicken burrito was to 80% stewed spinach, Yes, you read right... stewed bloody spinach! I know spinach is healthy and all but personally I find that a burrito filled with the stuff is outside my comfort zone. The spinach was then garnished with a few pieces of chicken, cucumber and wilted iceberg lettuce. The salsas were the same cheap jarred mess that you can by at every corner shop. We called for the waitress and addressed the fact that we didn't order stewed spinach (We weren't mean or anything. Not her fault the food is bad). She checked with the kitchen and informed us that this is the way they make their burritos, and off she went. No apologies or anything suggesting that they would want to make things right. It's honestly a total discrace to call this hodgepodge of ingredients Mexican food, and I highly recommend that you stay as far away from this place as possible. Unless you are Popey... then the burritos are definitely for you. The one star is for the drink I had. Was a local coke. Very tasty.
Good food, good service, relaxed atmosphere, trendy people
Great cacktails! I would recommend the mojito... And the rest ;-)... But... What a bummer. No foreign bank cards allowed :(
a good place for Mexican food in Leipzig.
Ok service, awful food.
BEST Mexican food and social compromis!
I'm Mexican, so maybe my review is a little different because of that. The staff was very nice and the place is also very friendly and beautifully decorated, but the food did not taste like Mexican food at all, sadly. The prices were also quite too high for the quality (and quantity) served; then again, if it was real Mexican food I'd understand the prices, but the quality of the food didn't make it up for the prices.
Objectively bad food attempting to masquerade as Mexican.
Should not be called Mexican food, as it’s rather an insult. Everything seemed to come out of a tin, it was such poor quality and the prices were waaaay to high.
Pretty good food . Outside patio , decent prices
Great.
Good cocktails.
Delicious Mexican food and Germany traditional beer
Two-star for service and drinks, which were good. Food is not worth being called Mexican food. Chips taste like second-rate (flavored!) supermarket tortilla chips, tortilla dish was cold, flavorless, and seemed thrown together with canned ingredients. Very disappointing - Leipzig really deserves better.
If u really want Mexican in leipzig , go there !
Wide choices of food and drinks for vegan and vegetarian also, the Tortilla there is amazing. With such a beautiful place to sit and have a good time
